The PMC-CX is a revolutionary
19"mixer loaded with features that can not be found on any
othermixer. The PMC-CX was essentially built to give Carl Cox what he
always wanted in a mixer. A solid, reliable, high performance
mixer that has enough features to allow him to give 110% during every
performance.Vestax combined the PMC-37pro and the PMC-500 to come up
with the ultimate club mixer that not only caters to the needs of the
DJs but also the needs of club owners and installation companies.

FEATURES
Input Matrix
The PMC-CX is the second mixer in
the Vestax family that offers an input matrix per PGM. Just like
the PMC-37pro, this mixer allows you to assign any input to any PGM.
This is a radical idea that completely opens up new possibilities for
the creative DJ.
Three Band
Filter Per PGM
Each PGM has a high pass, low pass
and
notch filter to create some awesome effects. The filter section
is clearly marked on the mixer by a large red knob under the three
band Isolators.
Three
Band Isolators Per Channel
The PMC-CX uses three band
isolators per PGM that offers 100% infinity cut and +4dB of boost. This
is an EQ section that DJs dream about. The isolators have oversized EQ
knobs that have the perfect amount of resistance when dropping in or
out
the desired frequencies. The +4dB of boost is just enough gain to allow
the DJ to emphasize the frequencies without overdriving and
creating distortion. Club owners also appreciate the +4dB of gain
because DJs will not do any damage to their expensive sound system.
Meters Per PGM
The PMC-CX has meters on
the individual PGM inputs and the master outputs. All of the
meters can be found in the upper right hand corner. There are two large
VU meters for the master outputs and just below the VU meters are
12 segment LED meters for the individual PGM inputs.
Tight Torque
InputFaders
The PMC-CX is equipped with the
best faders in the world. These are 60mm tight torque PCV faders that
offe the most accurate fade and smoothest feel on the market.
The cross fader is a third generation PCV fader with curve control.
The cross fader is user replaceable, but with a life expectancy
of 2,000,000 passes it pretty much guarantees that it should never
need replacing.
Input and
OutputAttenuation
All PGM inputs and master outputs
have
selectable gain attenuation switches of 0dB or -10dB allowing the owner
to cut up to -20dB. This is a very important feature to have on mixers
that will be used in very loud environments like clubs or bars. Club
and
bar owners can reduce the risk of damage to their sound system by
limiting the amount of gain. DJs are notorious for running in there
red.
These attenuation options will prohibit DJs from over-gaining.
Output Section
The output section on the
PMC-CX incorporates one of Carl Cox’s favorite Vestax units, the
DCR-1200, a three band isolator with antiphase. As if having isolators
on each PGM wasn’t enough this unit gives performers even more room to
be creative.Using the master isolator allows finer control over the cut
and boost of the low, mid, and high ranges when the effect it is
selected. When combined with antiphase it is possible to create
sensational reverb-like effects over the whole mix. Antiphase inverts
the isolator curve on both the low and mid frequency ranges.

On the rear panel you will find
three balanced stereo XLR and unbalanced 1/4 master outputs, a stereo
RCA record output, and a stereo unbalanced 1/4 master effect loop.
The master loop is an insert across all the outputs, excellent for
adding a compressor or an EQ.
With more than enough creative
room for even the most experimental DJs the PMC-CX is truly suitable
for almost any type of DJ. In addition to the features that have
already been explained, there are a number of other features that make
this mixer very user friendly. Without a doubt this mixer is worth
the investment for any serious DJ.
