FEATURES
VESTAX PMC-007 PROFESSIONAL SCRATCH MIXER / NEW MODEL

OVERVIEW
Deluxe 007 edition of the Vestax
PMC07pro. This mixer was specially designed for the scratch artists.
The body shape and construction have been completely re-designed from
the previous 07 Pro for a sleeker feel and easier access to the faders.
The 007 also introduces several exclusive features catered for the live
scratch turntablists, as well as a general upgrade of key components.
NEW BODY AND EASY
ASSESS CONSTRUCTION
The 007 features the sleekest Vestax
mixer design to date. The corners are rounded for comfort, which
especially comes into play in the wrist-resting section of the
crossfader area. The EQ section is slanted slightly upwards for better
visibility. Durability is not sacrificed for design, the body and
faceplates are entirely metal. The greatest structural difference in
the 007 is the new flip-top faceplate (aka BONNET). No tools are needed
remove the faceplate, just take off the knobs, loosen the large knob
underneath the mixer, and the face pops open like a hood of a car. Once
inside the new ReX Fader system allows you to switch faders without any
tools (faders are held in with a strong, spring loaded mechanism). What
is this all for? This is geared toward the "working" DJ, who needs to
be ready for any technical difficulties arising from the faders (a
common situation). On a standard mixer this can take more than 5
minutes, with this new system, you can do it in one.
REHEARSAL
MODE AND SCRATCH EQ
Rehearsal mode allows you to headphone
preview your scratching or mix, while the master output only plays the
original track. To achieve this, simply press the Rehearsal Mute button
on the channel you are scratching/mixing with, and use the crossfader
like you normally would (the audience will not hear the
scratching/mixing). Scratch EQ is controlled by a button for each
channel that automatically sets the EQs at optimal scratching
frequency. For routines that require quick changes, this could be very
useful.
UPGRADED
COMPONENTS
The 007 features Vestax's
Infinity 3 Band Isolator EQs. These are extremely powerful EQs that
perform clean kills and +4db boosts. Prior to the 007, this feature was
only found in Vestax’s line on the PMC-37. Additional upgrades include:
3rd generation PCV faders, effects/send receive with wet/dry control
(controls effects intensity), curve adjustment for all 3 faders,
secondary stereo (small plug) headphone jack, balanced XLR outputs, and
a Mic channel with 2 band EQ and loop input option.
ROUNDUP
This mixer is definitely geared toward
true blue turntablists. It will also make a solid, high-end centerpiece
for a home setup. The 007 definitely improves upon the original PMC07,
in terms of features (especially the effects send/receive and EQs),
while keeping the original feel and layout intact. The ReX faders and
easy access faceplate are great features for the "working" DJ.
